Background & Experience
Ryan Swehla, CCIM, is passionate about creating value in commercial real estate. As the co-founder and principal of NAI Benchmark, Ryan oversees the firm's asset and property management division in addition to his work as a real estate broker. This role gives him a unique perspective on how to increase value for property owners. NAI Benchmark's 1,000,000+ square foot portfolio consists of retail, office, industrial, and institutional-quality multifamily properties - giving Ryan a broad-based approach to creating value for commercial management and brokerage clients.
As a commercial real estate broker, Ryan's area of expertise is retail. Retail real estate is not "one size fits all". Every region, neighborhood, parcel and suite has unique strengths and weaknesses. Ryan's job is to identify those unique attributes and use them to propel success for a tenant or owner.
By having a firm grasp of a retailer's unique needs, Ryan has assisted national and regional tenants as they expand or relocate in the Central Valley. Through a deep understanding of the local market and access to buyers worldwide (from the NAI platform), he has helped owners yield the highest value for their retail investment sales. Ryan has advised land owners and developers from concept to construction of new retail developments.
Ryan serves as a board member with the Downtown Modesto Partnership and is a past chair of the City of Modesto Board of Zoning Adjustment. He holds a CCIM (Certified Commercial Investment Manager) designation and State of California Brokers License.
Married with three young children, Ryan is part of the next generation of leadership in California’s Central Valley and currently serves as board president of Great Valley Academy Charter School. An avid mountaineer, Ryan has climbed Mt. Rainier and all 15 California fourteeners (mountains over 14,000 Ft). He is an active Rotarian and Eagle Scout.
Bachelor of Science in Engineering and Management with minors in Finance and Economics
