Background & Experience
Kevin Dougherty, Principal of NAI Benchmark First Commercial, has over 30 years of experience in the commercial real estate industry. As a Certified Commercial Investment Member (CCIM) he is recognized as an expert in all phases of the real estate investment process. In the down market since 2008, Kevin has personally consummated transactions totaling over $40,000,000. He is partner in a large redevelopment project, just about to get underway, in Stockton and has multiple subdivision land transactions pending in the Central Valley.
Prior to merging with NAI Benchmark in 2013, Kevin was the President of First Commercial Real Estate & Advisory Services, a commercial real estate firm he established in 1993 to handle commercial and investment property exclusively. During this time, Kevin also created Multi-Generational Real Estate Planning® to assist his clients with transitioning wealth and real estate assets from one generation to the next and implement a strategic plan which becomes the road map for achieving the goals of the family.
Kevin has been involved with City of Stockton Redevelopment and remains an active investor in commercial Infill Projects. He is a co-owner of Stockton Gateway which was developed as a private sector redevelopment project. The Spanish-mission designed, co-brand facility of McDonald’s and Union 76 became the cornerstone for heralding downtown redevelopment. He currently serves on multiple Boards for the City of Stockton: Development Oversight Committee; Central Parking District; Charter Review Committee and is also a board member for the Downtown Stockton Alliance and the Miracle Mile Improvement District.
Kevin is married and has two daughters in college. He is an avid cyclist and fly fisherman. He spends his spare time with his family or touring the Central Valley and Tahoe area on his bike or fly fishing in northern California.
Kevin received his Bachelor’s Degree from San Diego State University. He holds the Certified Commercial Investment Member (CCIM) designation and a State of California Real Estate Broker’s License.
