Scope of Service Experience
Arlene has been with NAI Michael since early 2007. As Controller, Arlene brings with her over 30 years of experience in managing the day to day operations of all accounting functions and financial reporting. Her responsibilities include overseeing corporate accounting, payroll and employee benefits, development accounting, banking, and leading the Property Management Accounting staff. Additionally, as a member of the Executive Committee, she participates in the overall policies and decisions affecting NAI Michael.
Background & Experience
Through the years Arlene has held positions from Accounting Manager to Controller in industries as varied as a major airline carrier to a national retail chain. Her career begain with a wholesale grocery distributor in the Washington Metropolitan area, M. Loeb Corporation, progressing to a position of Senior Accountant. The next step was to Accounting Manager for a then local specialty retailer, The Cosmetic Center, quickly moving to the position of Controller. Over the next 18 years, the company grew from a wholesale business and two retail locations to a national retail chain reporting $200 million in annual sales with 275 locations. Her tasks included overseeing the day to day accounting functions and directing a staff of 28, administrating an in-house payroll for 3,400 employees, participating in both an Initial and Secondary Public Offering, multiple software and hardware upgrades and conversions, and all financial reporting. Arlene next served as Assistant Regional Controller for the Northeast Region for US Office Products, a business to business distributor of office products and furniture with regional sales of $150 million. Just prior to coming to NAI Michael, Arlene was the Accounting Manager for US Airways' Airport Services and Flight Operations divisions. There she was responsible for the financial reporting and accounting for 67 main line airports.
