Background & Experience
My real estate career as an industrial broker began in Westchester County, New York in 1996, after "retiring" from the practice of real estate law. I had many high profile transactions, and held several executive positions at Friedland Realty in my 19+ years there including Manager of the firm's Industrial Division, COO, President, CEO and Vice-Chairman. In January of 2014, I transitioned back to brokerage when the owner of the company returned as CEO. In November 2015, my wife and I relocated to Savannah, Georgia and I have affiliated with NAI Mopper Benton, with whom I had worked during my years in NY. Friedland was a part of the NAI family for several years but left after my role as CEO ended.
As a broker, I had the reputation of being a savvy negotiator, successfully negotiating with the New York City Board of Education , twice completing the transfer of the former Loral Electronics 9 1/2 acre site in the South Bronx to real estate developers, and placing the New York City Police Department's Drug Enforcement Agency in its current Bronx location. I represented significant property holders, such as Lockheed Martin Corporation on multiple transactions, as well as smaller entities, such as owners of small warehouses which are the family’s only asset. I am able to work closely with all personality types. Every client and customer brings something unique to the table and I have the patience, creativity and motivation t0 work with each one as if they are as important as the next.
Prior to joining Friedland Realty, I practiced real estate law in Manhattan, ran a textile importing company, worked as a theater producer in New York City, and owned and managed a boy’s summer camp in Maine. For the past 22 years, I have helped run Camp Viva, a one-week sleep away camp for families affected by HIV/Aids. I am one of the founders of the Camp and was recently honored by the New York State Commissioner of Health for my work in this area.
It is good to be back in the NAI family and part of NAI Mopper Benton!
I reside at The Landings on Skidaway Island with my wife, Andrea, and together we have four children, Jared (29), Sophie (26), Averi (26) and Amelia (23).
