Background & Experience
Ian is is proud to call himself a Louisiana citizen by choice. Ian is originally from East-Tennessee, just outside of Knoxville. He fell in love with New Orleans and Southern Louisiana after meeting his Cajun wife Hannah - a northshore native and Katrina refugee. Following the 2017 conferring of his Juris Doctorate Degree and Certificate of Concentration in Property Law - Ian brought Hannah, and their son, Rory, back home to the bayou. They now happily reside in St. Tammany Parish.
Growing up in Knoxville, Tennessee Ian’s family ties to business owners, lawyers, pastors, engineers, architects, contractors, and developers gave him a well-rounded upbringing that prepared him for the challenges of commercial real estate. In high school Ian was a state champion soccer player, a track athlete, and a cross country athlete. Throughout his high school, undergraduate, and post-graduate years Ian balanced several jobs, club participation, volunteer hours, and other social commitments.
Notably, Ian’s experience includes working as: a grocery bag-boy at 14 years old, a soccer gear salesman, a fireworks salesman, a loan administrator, an Amazon Distribution Center employee, a Walmart warehouse employee, a law clerk at Egerton, McAfee, Armistead & Davis (Corporate Defense), a law clerk at the Law Library of Congress, and a legal intern at the Atlantic Sun Conference. Also notably, Ian has spent many hours volunteering for his favorite charity Habitat for Humanity, and a host of other nonprofits including Mission of Hope, Operation Christmas Child, local charity Grandparents Raising Grandchildren, and several special-needs organizations.
Ian spent his last year of law school practicing law under Virginia’s Third Year Practice License Program. During this formative time he worked as a small town Real Estate attorney. It was through this experience and his conversations with several mentors that Ian found his calling as a commercial real estate advisor and agent.
Ian’s background and experience illustrates a lifelong pattern of hard work, attention to detail, and success. Ian has a relentless work ethic that has carried him through his undergraduate studies, law school, and now the commercial real estate industry.
Ian views his position at NAI Latter & Blum as more than just a career. He thoroughly enjoys putting his carefully cultivated talents, skills, and life experience to work for his clients in Louisiana, the Gulf Coast, and beyond.
