Scope of Service Experience
J. Grant Person began his career in approximately 1973 after spending several years as a Montana fishing guide and school teacher. Grant and a partner purchased a small, established real estate firm in Spokane in 1977, which later became known as Coldwell Banker-Feldman Person Realtors. Over the next ten years, the company grew to be one of the largest full service real estate companies in the area. The scope of the firm was extremely broad and included residential and commercial sales, leasing, property management, and residential, commercial, and industrial real estate development.
In 1988 Grant entered into a merger with Tomlinson Companies which resulted in forming the largest full service real estate company in the Inland Empire. Grant became co-owner and President of Tomlinson Commercial, Inc., and the new, combined organization continued to gather an increasing share of the commercial real estate and property management business in the Spokane area. In March of 1995, Grant found himself again in the midst of orchestrating a merger, this time between two of the oldest and best known real estate organizations in the entire region: James S. Black & Company and the Tomlinson Real Estate Companies.
In addition to his management responsibilities, Grant Person has always maintained a significant involvement in transacting commercial real estate deals with an established clientele base. Over the years Grant has placed an emphasis on income properties and tax-deferred exchanges, together with development of commercial real estate projects in Washington and Idaho.
