Scope of Service Experience
Mr. DiGiano has over 25 years of experience in public and private sector real estate development, directing marketing and lease-up programs of real estate assets owned by both public clients and private investors and institutions. In addition, because of his previous property management and development roles, he is able to effectively team with operations professionals to provide the necessary, multi-disciplinary approach to successfully manage and dispose of real estate assets. As NAI Hunneman’s primary point of contact with the NAI network, Mr. DiGiano directs his firm’s participation with other NAI offices.
Background & Experience
As NAI Hunneman's Executive Vice President & COO (2000 to Present), Mr. DiGiano manages the firm’s 35-person commercial brokerage operation and its $350 million per year in leasing and sales transactions. He oversees NAI Hunneman’s business development initiatives; directs research, marketing and support services for the brokerage teams; and is responsible for the firm’s financial management, planning and development, with an annual operating budget of $3 million.
Prior to 2000, he was the Director of operations for NAI Hunneman’s portfolio of commercial real estate properties under third party management, ranging in size from 3 MSF to 5 MSF. Responsible for supervising property managers and accountants in preparation of property budgets, financial reporting, capital improvements, tenant retention programs, and construction management.
As Development Manager (1987 to 1992) at Combined Properties, he oversaw development of office and industrial projects for developer with a 2 MSF to 3 MSF portfolio in the inner suburbs of Boston. Projects included leasing and fit-up for tenants such as Warner Cable, Staples, and Ryder Truck.
As Development Manager (1986 to 1987) for Lowell Development Associates, Mr. DiGiano oversaw industrial park development for the real estate company headed by former U.S. Senator Paul Tsongas.
As Director of Community Development (1981 to 1986) for the City of Peabody, MA, Mr. DiGiano
oversaw the development of the city’s Centennial Industrial Park, with $5 million of infrastructure improvements, $16 million in HUD Urban Development Action Grants, 300 acres of land sales, and 4 MSF of development with 4,000 new jobs. Responsible for the city’s downtown improvement programs, HUD Community Development Block Grant Program, city master plan, zoning and subdivision regulations, inspectional services and public properties.
