Background & Experience
Derrick was born and raised in Kennewick. After graduating from Southridge HS he attended Gonzaga University where he majored in Economics and Political Science. Derrick played an active leadership role in several student organizations and studied abroad in Florence, Italy. He interned as a lobbyist for the Steel industry at American University in Washington, DC during the 2004 Election. He returned to Spokane to intern with Global Credit Union as a Credit Analyst while completing his MBA with a concentration in Finance at Gonzaga.

Derrick started his career in Chicago with a boutique investment bank focusing on mergers & acquisitions and raising capital in the community banking sector. He joined Bally Total Fitness to assist in the turnaround and restructuring process after Bally filed for Chapter 11 and served as a Financial Analyst in the FP&A/Real Estate/Marketing departments. After learning the fundamentals of analyzing and dissecting business elements with corporate finance concepts in Chicago; he sought after a more entrepreneurial setting to apply both his knowledge and passion.  His analytical and entrepreneurial background is a great asset for his Client’s transactions and community.

Derrick joined his father Dirk Stricker in 2011; who was one of the Tri-Cities first Commercial Brokers. Derrick quickly completed over $5M in transactions and earned his Certified Commercial Investment Member (CCIM) designation. He is among 6% of all commercial brokers in the nation to have earned this, all before the age of 30. Derrick focuses on all sectors of CRE in his tertiary market, though has focused more in the Office and Industrial disciplines and his SIOR designation goal.
Derrick is an Executive Board member for the Regional Chamber of Commerce and sits on the City of Kennewick’s Blue Ribbon Committee. He also serves as President of the Tri-Cities Gonzaga Alumni Chapter and recently on the Advisory Council for the Gonzaga University College of Arts & Sciences. March Madness is real... He is married to Kathleen and busy chasing around a 4 year old Daughter (Sloane) and 2 year old son (Duke).
