Clayton King received his Bachelor degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Small Business Management and Entrepreneurship from the University of Texas at San Antonio in 2010. In the year following, Clayton joined NAI Maestas & Ward as an advisor. Within the first year, Clayton successfully secured client representation and strong relationships with national level clients. Clayton specializes in tenant representation and site selection, representing large scale tenants such as Applebee’s, Church’s Chicken, Circle K, Hibbett Sports, Great Clips, and Pizza 9.
Clayton’s multitude of experience does not stop with tenant representation as he also has experience representing landlords in various transactions. Major projects Clayton currently represents are the 81 acre development of Las Estancias and the Venada Plaza development located near the intersection of NM 528 and NM 550. These two projects alone encompass well over 700,000 square feet of retail property in the city of Albuquerque.
His extensive knowledge with ground-up development provides Clayton’s clients with in-depth detail on maximizing property exposure and creating tenant attractiveness. Through site development analysis, Clayton quickly understands effective shopping center layouts as well as market research to translate tenant needs into ideal site development. Unser development was 95% leased prior to breaking ground, displaying Clayton’s exceptional ability to create the ideal retail development.
On a statewide level, Clayton represents over 900,000 square feet of retail property alone. Clayton has multiple partnerships with ownership interests combining to a total of over 500,000 square feet of retail real estate throughout the state of New Mexico and Colorado. His ownership experience allows Clayton to have a detailed and strong understanding of owner perspective and needs, which ultimately allows him to be more effective than the majority of brokers.
Having much involvement in the real estate industry, Clayton is very hands on and this is shown through his membership with the International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC). He is also a member of the ICSC organization, the NextGen program, which consists of the future leaders in the Retail Real Estate Industry. Clayton’s leadership is also shown by being the New Mexico contact for the Retail Brokers network, a retail networking group whose members solely specialize in Retail Real Estate Brokerage.
Setting Clayton apart from other experts in the field is his skill in assessing marketplace needs and identifying appropriate solutions. Coupled with this, his attention to detail has created proven results with superior outcomes for his clients, consistently guaranteeing successful endeavors. As evidenced by his entrepreneurial outlook, technological competence and problem solving capabilities, Clayton’s clients continue to benefit from his ability to research and identify untapped business opportunities and present highly viable solutions.
